This photo was taken on Saturday night, August 16, 1969, in apartment 4403 at Marina City.

John Puffer, the young man in the white shirt and dark tie, in the middle of the group, had just returned safely from a tour of duty with the United States Army in Vietnam.

Celebrating with Puffer were his Theta Chi fraternity brothers from Illinois Wesleyan University, class of 1968.

(Left to right) Richard M. King, currently president and CEO of Kittleman & Associates, an executive search firm. W. Richard Setchell, now a farmer in Mendota, Illinois. Puffer, who retired from the insurance industry and now lives in Longmeadow, Massachusetts. Stephen P. Boger (back row), now a dentist in Minneapolis. Thomas V. Crouch (in the dark jacket), was general manager of a hotel in New York. He died in New York in 2006. And Ken Ewert, who now works for United Airlines in Schaumberg, Illinois.

Taking the photo was Joe Anderson, now president of Abhow Foundation, an organization in California that raises money for American Baptist Homes of the West and other charities.
