Census data was released for the 27th precinct of Chicago’s 42nd Ward and conveniently, everyone who lives in the 27th precinct is a resident of Marina City. All but 26 residents were age 18 or older. In 2000, there were 22 residents younger than 18.

The census was able to determine occupancy status of all but 17 of Marina City’s 896 residential units. It found 739 were occupied and 140 were vacant.

In 1965, an unofficial “census” by Marina City’s property manager showed a population of 1,279 residents.
